Have you been in a situation where your palms are sweaty and ought to shake hands with somebody? Moreover, the temperatures are cool; and also, you have not exerted yourself physically. These incidences can be embarrassing. Well, if you face such situations often, then possibly you’re suffering from a disorder called Hyperhidrosis.

The primary characteristic of this disorderly condition is sweating in excess amounts and constantly too.

Sweating is the body’s natural way of regulating the body temperature. However, if you are sweating excessively, then consider taking treatment.

There are 2 types of Hyperhidrosis:

  1. Primary Hyperhidrosis
  2. Secondary Hyperhidrosis

In Primary Hyperhidrosis, medical conditions are not responsible for the sweating bouts. Also, there are no triggering factors for the sweat glands to go into overdrive mode. Furthermore, the sweating is localized such as only in the armpits, hands, and feet. However, your condition can worsen if the stress levels are high.

In cases of Secondary Hyperhidrosis, there are several disorders that cause your condition. Also, the sweating is generalized. In other words, your whole body seems to sweat excessively. Heart-linked troubles, nerve-related issues, and Diabetes are some causes of this type of Hyperhidrosis.

Also, you may notice that unpleasant odors accompany sweating. This is because the moist environments are conducive to the growth of microbes. They release acids that are rancid smelling.

Nonetheless, the mild cases of excessive sweating are treatable through some simple remedies. But, the severe cases need medical intervention.

Tips on coping with Excessive Sweating

The following tips may come handy to control heavy sweating.

  • Antiperspirants

Use antiperspirants-cum-deodorizers for managing your sweat glands. Antiperspirants block the sweat ducts and curb sweating. Moreover, the deodorizers are effective to mask the bad odors that emanate during sweating.

  • Foot Soaks

For treating sweaty feet, you can avail the option of soaking your feet in a vinegar solution. Vinegar is astringent in nature and shrinks the pores. Thus, you can reduce sweating through applying the vinegar.

You will need:

  • 1 quart of water
  • ½ cup of vinegar

  • Mix both the ingredients in a bucket.
  • Follow by immersing your feet in the bucket.
  • Wait for 20 minutes to allow the vinegar to work its remedial action.
  • Rinse feet using water
  • Pat dry the feet using a clean washcloth
  • Practice the remedy 2 times in a day.

Dry Powders

Consider the use of dry powders such as cornstarch, baking soda, and baby talcum powder. They can effectively absorb the moisture and make your body less sweaty. Apply in the sweat-prone areas.

Rinse with Water

In the case of sweaty hands, you can simply rinse with water. Avoid the use of soap for eliminating sweat as your hands become dry with excessive soap use.
